Stitch Fix has quickly become one of the best parts of my month. It is so exciting to come home and see that little brown box on my doorstep. I love the excitement of not knowing how everything will look, but most of all, I love that I can go to work or go out with my husband and feel confident in what I am wearing. As a mother who no longer weighs what I did in high school, confidence is a valuable commodity.Stitch Fix has given me that.
Stitch Fix takes the stress out of shopping. It is a box of 5 items picked by your own personal shopper who knows what fits and what you like. You try them on in the comfort of your own home. If you like them, you buy them. If you don’t, you mail them back for no charge.
This time I decided to have a little bit of fun. In my note to my stylist (Hi Madeline!) I asked her to base this fix off of Mila Kunis’s style. I pinned a few things for inspiration and I think she did a fantastic job! Here is what I was sent this month:
COLLECTIVE CONCEPTS – KATELYNN PRINTED DRESS – $78
This dress made me think of spring time. The colors were happy and I usually love floral patterns. I just wasn’t IN LOVE with this. So I posted it on a Facebook page that I am a member of and someone snatched it up in about an hour.
KEPT (SORT OF)
RENEE C – RANDAL SPLIT BACK TOP – $48
This one Madeline found off my Pinterest board. I am so in love with this design. We have been having a lot of rain here lately and these bright colors are exactly what I needed. Look, even Rory is a fan! This one is especially great since it will work with jeans or slacks and will transition well through every part of my life.
MARKET & SPRUCE – CAMMY DEEP V NECK RIBBED KNIT TOP- $44
I am starting to notice a pattern with this brand. Pretty much if it says “Market & Spruce” I am going to buy it. This shirt has to be the most comfortable thing I have ever worn (don’t tell my Danny Knit Pants). When I saw that it was coming I was a bit worried. Like really? $44 for a t-shirt? But $44 for my FAVORITE t-shirt quickly became justifiable.
GET IN MY CLOSET
MARKET & SPRUCE – MARGERIE STRIPE & DOT OPEN CARDIGAN- $68
LIVERPOOL – KONA DISTRESSED BOYFRIEND JEAN – $78
The second I put this outfit on I had to go back and look at my Pinterest board. This was the spitting image of a Mila Kunis outfit I had pinned. The jeans are super cute (coming from a girl who has always been a skeptic to the “boyfriend jean” fad) and the distressing is reinforced with a fabric backing (Yay for longevity!). The cardigan is so soft and just the right thickness for spring/fall weather. I love the little peekaboo of the polka dots. To be honest, I will probably have a hard time taking this one off.
All in all, a very successful fix. What was your favorite piece? Let me know in the comments section!
