If you haven’t heard of Stitch Fix yet, it’s the solution to almost all of my fashion problems as a working mother. Before I discovered this service, I used to lament the fact that I could not afford a personal assistant to go shopping for me.
Between work and raising a toddler, who has time to shop anymore? And when I absolutely had to trek to a store, I usually ended up dragging myself home with nothing to show but toys for my son or something my husband has been wanting.
Stitch Fix takes the stress out of shopping. It is a box of 5 items picked by your own personal shopper who knows what fits and what you like. You try them on in the comfort of your own home. If you like them, you buy them. If you don’t, you mail them back for no charge.
Here is what I was sent this month:
JUST USA – DARK WASH DENIM JACKET
I was hesitant when I pulled this out of my box. I haven’t worn a denim jacket since middle school and since I have a young looking face, I was worried about this one. But oh my, is it cute. The dark wash is very flattering and it goes surprisingly well with things I already own.
PIXLEY – INDIANAN GRAPHIC PRINT MIXED MATERIAL TEE
It’s funny, I think my stylist Madeline is starting to know me better than I know myself. This is an item I had pinned and was sure would look great on me. Once I put it on, I just wasn’t feeling it. The material is thinner than I thought it would be and shows off my curves in all the wrong places. The back print is very cute, but just not cute enough for how odd this sits on me.
SENT BACK (quickly)
SKIES ARE BLUE – RAINEY DRESS
This dress is amazing. The fabric is thick and feels like really great quality with a sewn in liner. The cut is very flattering and it is one of those pieces that transitions well from business casual to date night. Plus, look at the adorable cut outs in the back (which are positioned perfectly to still allow for a regular bra!)
KEPT AND WEARING TOMORROW
MARKET & SPRUCE – AURIA DRESS
And finally, this cute little number. The fit is nice. Once again the fabric feels high quality which is something I’ve noticed about most of Stitchfixs items. I love the boho type feel this dress gives off. You can’t really tell from the photos, but the waist has an elastic band that flatters well. Plus, look how great it looks with the denim jacket!
